From video reviews to anecdotal reports, this phone is polarizing. A slow motion test isn't showing any dithering at all. This is supposedly a true 10 bit display. It is OLED, but the modulation depth is shown to be less than most leading phones. Lastly, the PWM frequency is quite high in the 2+ thousands (I believe).

That said, I still read some reports of people not being able to stand it for even 5 minutes. I want this phone to work for me, but I don't know if it's worth the effort importing it only to find out it's just as bad as everything else. Do any people here have any time with this phone?

That assumes said slow motion tests are fast enough to capture the limits of what dithering is potentially possible.

Lastly, the PWM frequency is quite high in the 2+ thousands (I believe).

I believe there may still be some unanswered questions with regards to OLED refresh rate vs PWM frequency.

And of course, these aren't the only potential factors...

JTL Yes. OLED is its own beast. I know OLED can work for me as I can use my iPhone X on ios14 all day long, so I know that OLED isn't terrible for me by default. I think all of the processing is where the issues are introduced. I can't get solid answers on the Honor Magic 8 anywhere. The only thing they do advertise is their dimming technology other eye comfort options, but unfortunately, they don't address any of the eye comfort issues that I know harm me.
