I hate to be pessimistic but it's starting to get to the point where I think this strain is the norm and may stay and even get worse.
If it is what we believe it is (some form of dithering/noise baked into the video output/software) then regardless of screen types in the future this issue will remain. Unless of course a fix comes in the future, fingers crossed
How do all you guys work at the moment? I'm not tech-savvy enough to be a freelancer/work-from-home type and even basic office work will not be possible soon on new tech. I know I sound like a broken record like
others on this forum, but it's severely impacting my life right now.
Almost all new TV's/Blu Ray Players/Consoles have this problem, so I can't rely on any visual input being comfortable.
I'm considering a massive career change and lifestyle change - I'm going to have to hit up eBay etc for old tech, acquire a VHS/DVD collection and go back to physical media - which is actually kinda fun as I like retro stuff 🙂. This doesn't touch on the subject of lighting which regardless of lifestyle changes is largely unavoidable. Thankfully in my case lighting isn't that much of an issue yet.
I don't necessarily want to be a luddite however it's becoming clear that it's one or the other, fully invested into new technology or abstaining entirely.
