Has anyone continued to use a bad device which causes eye strain/headaches and adjusted over time?
I recently got a new work computer which is using a 6th gen i7 6820HQ and NVIDIA Quadro M620 running windows 10 enterprise. 3 weeks ago I decided I'd try to fight my way through the day, hoping my eyes would adjust similar to a new pair of prescription glasses.
Typical Computer Use: Constant us for 9 hours a day Monday through Friday for work.
Previous laptop with no strain: Dell Latitude E6540 i7 4810MQ with a Radeon HD8790M running windows 7 enterprise. Connected to 2 24" monitors (ASUS VS248H-P) through a dock using DVI.
Week 1: I was traveling for work and sat in meetings all week so I only opened my laptop a few times a day. By the end of the week it was easier to look at.
Week 2: I was back home and connected the laptop to 2 monitors (ASUS VS248H-P) through a dell dock using USB-C to DVI. I felt the strain but made it through the week. I definitely felt more tired than usual at the end of the day.
Week 3: I continued using the same setup as Week 2 but I got a new pair of prescription glasses with a blue light filter. My eyes hurt worse than week 2 and the strain continued into the weekend. My eyes were so bad, even using devices (samsung LED TV, Galaxy s8+) that don't cause strain were bothering my eyes.
I'm sure my new glasses with a change to my prescription added more strain to my eyes on top of the usual from my laptop so it's hard to tell if my eyes were adjusting or if 2 weeks of consistently using a bad device left a lasting impact.
