Just wondering how many eye strain sufferers have ended up here at LED Strain. And I wonder how widespread this problem is. I see mentions of eye strain from displays all over the internet, but maybe it is because I am looking for it. And maybe eye strain sufferers are actually a minority? What do you think?
How many users are here?
Given the proliferation of "blue light filters" out there, there is some measure of awareness of people having headaches or reaction to devices. Despite mainstream not covering a wider scope (PWM, color profiles, dithering), it's a sign in the right direction
As for a minority, I can't imagine any accurate statistics since even here people are having a difficult time identifying what is the cause of issues. I don't doubt there are many people out there who simply frequently get headaches and attribute it to something else. I have talked to many people in this position and have been there myself.
As for LED Strain, here's a heatmap of visitors to the forum
My laptop now uses back to AMD driver, I have give up solving eyestrain and reduce the time on computer as much as possible.

I found this website only less than an year ago, when my eye-strain troubles restarted really bad after changing job/computer. It does not mean my visual experience in front of electronic devices has always been good earlier. I had just gotten desperate with searching for the "truth" which never came, and had been lucky to find an hardware/software compromise to hang on to. If I recall, I "got" here accidentally because I had more than a feeling my eyestrain depended on the type of graphic card, although all the experts I talked to, like computer admins at work, would tell me it was fantasy. I am sure there are many people out there who are desperate too, have no clue why they suffer from eyestrain and have stopped looking for a reason / do not have enough know-how to identify the culprit.
To be honest I feel ashamed to have realized in a more substantial way only recently, that my eyestrain and many of my headaches have been caused by newer forms of ceiling lighting and lamps. It was not my imagination nor a psychological effect nor stress nor dry eyes, as many doctors told me.
Still now I am very frustrated. I learnt a lot of things but a permanent solution, hardware-software wise or medical-wise, appears a chimera.
