Hi Harrison,
Recently I purchased a used desktop PC that uses Nvidia graphics card that I (thankfully) get no eye strain at all.
As you know, I do suffer from eye strain due to PWM flickering, and I also get eye strain from Intel graphics driver. So its very hard for me to find a laptop or desktop that I can use without getting eye strain. I was a bit worried when purchasing this desktop but thankfully I was able to use it without any eye strain at all. Here is my setup and spec:
CPU: Intel Core i5-4460
GPU: NVIDIA PALIT GeForce GTX 760 Tetstream 2G GDDR5
MOBO: ASRock B85 killer
HDD: WD 1TB Caviar Blue HDD
RAM: Avexir Core red DDR3 4GB 1600mhz x2
ODD: Liteon 24x DVD-RW
PSU: FSP HEXA 550W PSU R
Chasis: thermaltake H21
CPU COOLER: cryorig H
MONITOR: BENQ RL2455HM 24 inch Flicker-free Gaming Monitor.
NVIDIA GRAPHICS DRIVER:
Driver Version: 9.18.13.5306
Driver Date: 5/27/2015
Driver Provider: Nvidia
I do not use HDMI to connect my desktop to monitor. Instead, I use a DVI to VGA converter, and use VGA cable to connect to the monitor. I read somewhere that using a VGA cable (instead of HDMI) can help to remove some of the things that causes eye strain due to software/graphics driver related. I am really relieved that my setup works. I get no eye strain from it, I can surf the web, watch youtube videos and play games for long periods of time without a problem. I am not going to update any of hardware or my drivers, ever. If it works, dont fix it. :-)
Hope this helps.
