So ... my work machine has a Quadro K420 in it, running Windows 10 v1511 (LTSB). But it hit some MS updates (security and office) over the weekend. When I got in yesterday morning, the machine had rebooted and for some reason lost track of the video card. Only one monitor was running, and it had dropped back to "Standard VGA". No problem, I figured - I'll just uninstall/reinstall the hardware from device manager.
For whatever reason, that didn't work - it installed the MS driver for GeForce, which is pretty awful, and never installed the GeForce driver from nVidia. Weird. So I installed the latest GeForce experience. It auto-downloaded and installed the latest GeForce driver, and after a couple reboots I was back up and running - only it wasn't super comfy on my eyes. Hmm...
So I hunted around on my hard drive, found the last driver I downloaded (looks to be February 2019) and installed that... seems better but not perfect. I'm going to try an older version... which brings me to the question:
What version of the GeForce drivers are you guys using? It ostensibly shouldn't matter - I suspect maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree and the problem is my monitor drivers or something else in the system.
Thoughts?
