Hello
I am looking for ccfl dc monitor. I heard that pwn is not good for our eyes, also i dont like led light. I was searching in the internet but i cant find a information is monitor pwm or dc. I know that ccfl monitors has not been produced since ages so i am searching for used monitor with 1440 x990 or 1680 x 1050 resolution, also tn panel technology would be fine and some other ports than d sub if possible.

Look at the thickness of the monitor, if its quite thick its probably CCFL. Not aware of any specifically be dc driven, but it probably won't be hard to find one that's dim enough to be ran on 100% brightness. I've had two such monitors like that.

Many monitors have this information about ccfl backlight written on cnet.com site, but i cant find information about flickering.Seagull What monitors do you have? Do you see flickering when brightness i set up high?

      Hellojacob

I had an AOC N20W 20". No PWM on 100% brightness, which is perfectly usable, even a bit on the dim side. I tested it with a camera.

Can someone help me and answear?
Is for example Monitor Dell 1909Wb 1440x900 good?

ShivaWind I have not taken in considaration this variable or heard of it. Is it important that monitor has 8 bit colour? Is it affect fatigue of eyes?

Not who is being asked, but I'll share mine anyway since it's a different model Dell ccfl.

100% bright, 74% contrast. It's a pwm monitor so I keep it at the top, and it's not really an issue because as fluorescents age they actually get gradually dimmer.. this one is already 14 years old now. A new monitor would be more problematic because now they use superbright LEDs, probably 600 lux, so you can't have those at 100% anymore unless you're sitting outside.

The contrast, you set using a test image, even an appropriate photo of clouds, snow or sand is fine, paying attention to the whites. You want to see detail in the whites. Basically as white as you can go before you start losing detail because it's getting blown out.

I'll add to that, depending on the OS you also need to adjust the gamma in the OS settings, again with the test image. This time paying attention to the detail in the blacks.
