So in an older post, someone mentioned they could set their AMD card to 6bit (I can't find that thread unfortunately).

Can anyone with an AMD card confirm this? does it actually work? thinking of buying a cheap RX 570 to test with the capture card.

I have an AMD Radeon card. I just checked it and it says its 8-bit under the display settings but won't give me any way of changing it to 6-bit.

The card is in a laptop not desktop computer. Don't know if that makes a difference.

    Larkenn It's certainly possible

Is this with the internal LCD or an external display?

It's with the internal LCD. I don't have an external display.

Larkenn This is the most hopeful I've been in a while. Can anyone check these settings get rid of dither on 6 bit plus monitors?

Hey, old thread, but I have the option. I have a RX 460. I've been having strain for a long time now and after setting it to 6-bit I actually feel so much better. Gonna give it a few days though before I can say for certain one way or another if it completely resolved my problem, but it's without a doubt better than it was before.

The secret is that you need to use DisplayPort. Using HDMI didn't give me the option to switch to 6-bit, but DP did. Let me know if this works for anyone else!

Update: not a 100% fix, still get eye strain. Definitely try this out if dithering affects you though.
