Having read a bit, it seems to be related with apple's long time "innovation" called the dithering algorithm if I'm not wrong, that promises to display up to a billion colors. This seems to take advantage of using proximity of colors through an algorithm to generate that color effect without having to put a higher quality display, I would say similar to the principle of 3D movies, and this makes work harder for your brain but effectively straining your eyes as well. That is why most of us using macs since the air II appeared seem to see it blurry. This issue or innovation seem to have been going on for years know, at least I can speak for my MacBook Air from 2012 in which I identified the issue and even went to the eye doctor for a solution.
But know 8 years after using different screens, laptops among other and making a little research I can tell that deffinitely my eyes ae not meant for this cheap trick which only limits the potential use of a mac laptop to a few hours making it unsuitable for long worktime hours for many of us. I would make an educated guess and try to compare it to trying to work on a 3D screen for long periods of time, offcourse this can drain you up, and may have a color enhancement effect but by relying on your eyes and not by merit from the screen itself. To set an example, have you ever tried working on your tv screen by connecting your laptop? Isn't it the same tiredness you experience. Its beacause this effect of putting colors side to side to create the effect of new colors just causes the image to go blurry when you need to see other types of detailed images such as the ones displayed with texts, pdf's, sheets and let's not talk about image scanned pdf's... or at least that is what I whould think is the problem here. Now I am having suspicions on if wether this algorythm is also present on the iphone since my girlfrinend suffers from migrains and now that I realize on the past years she has not used computers or anything but her phone since she has worked for short terms but has become more and more dependant on her apple mobile.
What do you think?
