I saw that someone else on here used a transparent paper cover. I have been trying this at work for almost a week. It does not eliminate my eye strain entirely, but I do believe that is is helping at least a little bit. My first work week, by Thursday afternoon my eyes were in excruciating pain and I was keeping my right eye closed most of the time due to the pain. However, after this past work week by Friday afternoon my eyes were hurting, but they were not hurting as bad as the first week without the transparent paper covers. What I have been using is laminated clear paper covers. I bought them in the school supplies section. I did not cut them in half. and I keep them sideways (landscape) because if they were upright there would be all these colorful lines that would get in the way. (Idk what this is exactly)

Maybe some of you would have better luck with these. I am just experimenting and trying to learn.
I wish you all the best of luck and want to encourage you all to never give up.

Do you wear glasses? If not, you could consider trying a pair with anti-reflective coating (ARC). To me they are of some help with the glossy Mac displays I use and with overhead lighting. I can clearly see a difference whenever I look at something which is backlit.
That said, ARC does not work miracles and I do not expect it to make an impossible device usable. It may just relieve some symptoms.

AGI I have a pair of Gunnar's that have an anti-reflective coating. They don't really do much.

    Thanks for your reply

Tommy98 Do they have tinted lenses, do not they? And lenses are not completely neutral, I heard.

Independently of the eyestrain, can't you see any difference with and without those glasses if you look at a backlit object? Thanks.

AGI They do have tinted lenses. They're the 65 tint lenses. No they're not completely neutral. They have slight magnification. Independent of eye strain, yes. The glasses make everything look warmer and they have a slight magnification (which I can't really even notice). The difference is that the screen is less blue and more yellow haha.

Tommy98 I see. I did not know there is name for that tint. I know only the orangish FL-41. The info may turn useful, as I am considering testing different tints. Thanks!
By the way, have you tried transparent covers of different colors (sort of Irlen syndrome test)?

AGI I have not tried any different colors. That sounds like a good idea to try. I tried a thick white plastic thing that became more transparent the closer it was to the screen. It did not really help though. After a few hours my eyes were hurting pretty bad. I also tried a privacy filter. That didn't help very much either.
Thanks for your reply! Best of luck on your experimenting and learning!
I'll look into the different colored transparent covers.
