I and a few other people have noticed that some IPS monitors have a sharp moving shadow that depends on the viewing angles.
Prad.de - a trustworthy LCD display testing website - also described this shadow in their test of PA328Q:
"The gray haze, typical for IPS panels, becomes noticeable from around 45 degrees, but not on the entire monitor image, but as a wandering stripe that changes its position on the image depending on the changed viewing angle."
This shadow is not a problem for most people because it is only visible from a short distance and at sharp angles. However, it is a problem for me because I have had very poor vision since birth and I have to use monitors up close. I want to find a large monitor that doesn't have that sharp, wandering shadow.
Currently, I found four monitors with this problem: PA238Q, HP 22es, NEC e241n, Philips 276E9QDSB. There are some videos to demonstrate the issue:
https://youtu.be/meA9N0jqnHA (the right one has the issue)
https://youtu.be/C_kQpFOLhno (the right one has the issue, visible only for some brief moments when the camera has sharp angles in relation to this monitor)
https://youtu.be/mFZviqO2xQo
https://youtu.be/jqsXJZbXTxI?t=115 (in Russian; the person does a full review and specifically complains about too rapid brightness change depending on angle, saying it feels almost like on an old TN panel).
I have created a list of monitors that are my candidates for my next upgrade. If you have one of these, please check it briefly (ideally - record a video with a plain background) and let me know if it does have such a "wandering shadow" or abrupt brightness change.
Here is the list of monitors I would like to know about:

Thank you!
