TLDR: may wanna try "SD 170M-A" color profile (without using FF or Chrome for browsing)
Some time back I said that I bought an M1 MacMini and that I wanted to try some things.
I connected the MacMini via HDMI to my Dell 2408wfp (CCFL) and had eye strain as with all Macs before.
Then I bought a USB-C to DP converter to try if the different connection would make a difference. Nope, same issue as before.
Changing the color space to "Generic RGB Profile" I thought it made a difference, but I got some strain after some hours as well.
That was end of November last year. One week ago I opened the MacMini again to see if I could "fix" it or if I needed to return it as I did with many other products before.
For some reason there was now a new color profile selected called "SD 170M-A" which seems to work fine. I work with the setting now for 9 hours straight for the last 5 days and have no issues IF (yes, there is a catch) I do not use Chrome, Firefox, Edge or Opera. These browsers will turn on dithering again and I cannot use the system anymore.
Could anyone else with a problematic Mac try to see if "SD 170M-A" color profile helps? It certainly did with the MacMini M1 and an Intel MBP 2015.
