Hi, just want to share something that greatly reduced my eyestrain on Intel-based MacBooks (M1 MacBooks can't be used because of the proprietary M1 GPU, and it involves kext modifications for both Intel and AMD GPUs). The reason I found this in the first place is because I've been looking into kexts and hackintoshing and the like after reading discussions on here, and I noticed that there's a kext that allows you to disable video acceleration for both Intel and AMD graphics. It's called WhateverGreen. Here's a guide to installing it:

The only things you need are Lilu, WhateverGreen, and either Clover or OpenCore. Once you get WhateverGreen installed, follow the instructions to boot either -igfxvesa or -radvesa (note: I've only tested this with Intel graphics but I figure it's similar for AMD graphics). For me, after starting -igfxvesa my eyestrain dropped about 80-90%. Make sure to reboot as well. Please leave results below! I want to see if this is truly effective or not. Be warned that it might lower how powerful your graphics card is, but I'm sure 99% of us here care more about having a usable display than powerful graphics. I was still able to do everything I normally would after doing this method, though.
(note: this also technically works on Hackintosh but you won't be able to do anything except web browse and watch videos since the boot arguments limit your VRAM to 7 MB)
