Gurm There are still some serious mysteries - what exactly is happening in the rendering of Windows 10 post-2015 that causes these binocular focus problems?
They "why" is unknown, but at least we have a strong suspect in the "what", which is dwm.exe.
That's a real puzzler and I don't know if we're going to ever get a good answer.
It's not a puzzler. We won't. We are far to small a community for anyone to care.
I see encouraging signs - Windows 11 is better than Windows 10 2004 which was already much better than Windows 10 18xx or 19xx. This means someone figured SOMETHING out.
IMHO, it's just random. Someone changed something to accomplish a goal and as a fortunate side effect for us it causes less symptoms
No idea what, though. I see far fewer horrible street signs with retina-burning LED's than I did just a couple years ago. Walking through Home Depot was just awful for a while - the blinding LED's were beyond dreadful. But now it's… better. Not great, but not as awful. Many companies are releasing lower flicker LED's, better spectrum LED's.
LED technology is maturing, without a doubt.
I guess I'm just saying try to stay positive and work at this.
It's all you can do
I'm lazy, and should spend more time with patching.
Never feel bad taking time away from this. It's a massive issue that takes a massive toll on us and you can only deal with this mountain of shit one spoonful at a time. It's completely reasonable to occasionally put the spoon down and take a break, because it's no fun eating shit.
I've been lucky to sometimes find a setup in my life that left me nearly symptom free for years, and when that happens I just forget I even have this problem and try to enjoy my life. But eventually something unexpected happens, pulls the rug out from under me, and I'm back in the middle of the shit. And it's time to take the spoon back out.
It's how I imagine drug addicts feel after they get sober, they can have years of a great life without their addiction ruining it, but at any time one slip up can land them right back in hell.
Let's all try to stay positive and move forward. It's so easy to lose hope - a couple weeks ago I was a wreck. New house, new car, eyestrain every day. Today I'm feeling much better. Still gotta sort out the car but the rest is falling into place.
A sense of community helps. And as an aside overall stress levels GREATLY increase my sensitivity, when I bought my house, or a new car, or something breaks, I can be WAY more sensitive to migraines than usual. Staying calm definitely helps. There is absolutely an emotional component to this, which can easily put you in a spiral of getting triggered, which causes you stress, which makes you more easily triggered, which causes more stress, etc etc.
