Dejected Hi there.. I am very sensitive to PWM .. I couldn't stand any screen that has a pwm.. I just purchased a DLP projector for my work as a teacher but it immediately gave me a very strong headache and nausea .. I'm looking up to replace it with a flicker free one .. any suggestion ? any information about 3Lcd or Laser ones projectors ? please help me 🙁
Clokwork I can vouch for 3LCD being a very good option. I have the Epson LS500. I’m wondering if you’re suffering from the rainbow effect.
Dejected Clokwork I’m wondering if you’re suffering from the rainbow effect. I don't know .. but Dlp projector really made me sick I am going to buy a 3lcd projector hope its good
Clokwork Dejected I believe it will be a much improved experience. In theory, LED light sources can pulse for dimming. I would say go for laser if you can. As far as I know 3LCD has no moving parts as compared to DLP.
Clokwork Dejected You’d likely have to check the specs for the projector as they should most definitely give you info on the light source.
Clokwork I wrote to JVC about flicker and haven’t heard back. I don’t have any definitive answer on laser and flicker. I do know that Epson supposedly does not use temporal dithering for color. (Their words, not mine). That’s why I’m with them.
Maxx I tried many 3lcd projectors and as a PWM sensitive person, I'm not able to tolerate them. They do have flicker when tested with DSLR. Or then it is the temporal dithering
