An update from me.
Wrt the Boox Mira eInk monitor: I can currently only tolerate it for 5-10min/day.
Finally bought the same projector that had worked for me 18 months ago. (BenQ MS502). I've been using it for 2 weeks now. Doing one hour per day without much pain.
My setup:
- dark-brown polarized clipon glasses on top of prism glasses
- random cheap VGA->HDMI adapter.
- Either of my two laptops - the laptop model doesn't seem to matter
- ditherig.exe: "No dithering"
- 60.317Hz refresh rate. It flickers visibly (at, say, 8Hz) but this doesn't bother my eyes.
- 800x600px res (this is the native res of the projector)
- Projecting to a wall that's 3-4 meters away (THIS IS IMPORTANT 🙂 )
My daily med/food intake:
- 84g frozen spinach
- Around 3L water
- 2000IU vitamin D
- 600mg Magnesium (in the form of 6000mg Magnesium Glycinate/Lysinate Chelate)
- 2 caps Acomodin
Now, the key thing will be that I never overwork my eyes again. So long as I do not, I think I'll be able to keep using this setup for 1hr/day everyday.
