Hi all,
I have been using Windows 11 for 4 days. I repeated what I did in Windows 10 to remove the Intel UHD driver (and switch to basic driver), and I succeeded in Windows 11.
Just list here all steps to guide if anyone may need:
- Search for Device installation settings and tick on 'No' box.
- In Services app of Windows: Disable these services: Device install service, Device setup manager, all Intel Graphics services, and Intel content protection HDCP service. Restart.
- Uninstall Intel UHD driver. Then go to step 4 to delete the driver folder.
- Claim full control of the folder named …iigd dch… in C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository (the name may differ in each machine, you can search for the keyword iigd dch because there will be a bunch of letters and numbers together with it so I can not specify, basically iigd dch is the name of the Intel graphic DCH driver - this is the one that tries to re-install each time you remove it). Initially, the SYSTEM is the owner of this folder and all files inside, and it prevents you from deleting this folder even if you're an admin. Only after claiming full control can you delete it.
After you do these steps, the Intel UHD driver will not be able to "come back". You can still enable Windows Update as usual.
The basic driver has downsides, but still it is the only one I can use for now.
