No, I haven't done that. I use it on an HP Zbook G3 laptop with Windows 8.1 and is as strain free as it gets for me.
Monitor Recommendation what to buy?
Alyosha2001 it's not available to buy in my region
I am using Asus VA24DQ (IPS monitor) for around 4hrs a day.
It took me 2-3 weeks to get used to it.
I was using 1-2hrs everyday and slowly ramped it to 4.
It comparatively has milder strain and headache compared to all the previous monitors I've tried.
Deepak arethey all ips or u tried va before ?,i have a tn laptop and i can sit infront of it with zero strain but my laptop and my new monitor are toasting my eyes
Sun Vision Display has a 32" 1080p reflective LCD monitor. It's hellaciously expensive but the only thing on the market that comes close to fulfilling both the eyestrain for coding and framerate for gaming requirements. Though eyestrain seems to have such wide varying causes. If you have issues with backlights then it should help a lot.

DishaSamir Yea interestingly all my laptops are IPS only.
I have never used a VA laptop.
I had a TN screen laptop from 2010 Asus N61JV, and it gave me more strain (woozy feel).
Tried it last week it, it works very well with Macbook Air 2015, it even has gamma settings for Mac and PC. A friend of mine used it for some hours and had no issues with it; I watched it for some minutes and seemed very fine.
Did not test it for myself for long time
Alyosha2001 Thank you. That’s good news! I’ve gotta try that! I’d love to keep using my MacBook
This is really interesting. Considering I've never had any symptoms reading a book, or getting my eyes irritated when playing badminton or boating in the open water on a sunny day - both of these activities involve either flicker or fast movement, it could be that a component to the eye strain really is the backlight, flickering or not.
This screen could be the solution. Of course I'm still doubtful if things like temporal dithering or flicker from just video could produce the same irritation as with a backlit display, but like I described, I'm able to tolerate "flicker" in natural light without any eye strain.
I joined the waiting list and will be ordering one the minute they become available.
I hope there would be some feedback already in this forum for those who have the most difficult version on these problems, e.g. getting eye strain from any display, like I currently have, since a few months.

It certainly seems less common, but I believe seizures related to photosensitive epilepsy have been triggered by natural movement (i.e, car accelerating past "breaking" sunlight in trees, sorry if a little unclear)
My guess is it could be related to a different amplitude of flicker compared to "digital" forms of flicker like PWM.
I bought a 144hz refresh rate gaming monitor that cured my symptoms for a good month or so before they came back. You may have better luck than me with it
What is the model, i got vg249 144hz its straining my eyes badly
