Hi, so I've been struggling a bit lately with negative afterimages everyday when looking at a screen esp in dark mode, I'm sure it's related to migraine visual aura in some way. Definitely worse lately than it used to be in the past.
The ram in my PC which uses an integrated GPU went bad so I got replacement sticks under warranty. The 7 years newer ram passes testing, so no more error.. but I am seeing so much more temporal dithering now it's bugging me. The only thing that was changed was the ram. My monitor has always had temporal dithering and I was used to it though I never really loved it. Ditherig helps a tiny bit when before I didn't usually bother. But overall it's annoying me, i absolutely do see the shimmering.
Could also just be a coincidence, or not.
I downloaded the Win 11 22621 iso and I'll throw it on a partition later today and see what it's like, though overall, I don't want to use Windows anymore.
Update: I tried Windows 11. I hate the user interface, I won't use it. As far as comfort on my hardware goes, it's tolerable. I also tried 8.1, it sucked. So, 7, 10 and sometimes x.org are ok. Still need to try other stuff.
I managed to make the picture on Windows 10 a bit more steady. Force-installed the driver as an Iris 6100 instead of HD 6000. The specs are the same for both just slightly higher clock speeds for the 6100. Gpu-z is not recording the clocks as being different, but visually there is a slight difference, so who knows what's going on.
