While I haven't had problems with 10 (except for the stupidly bright whites, which I eliminated with a custom theme), but If you are worried I suggest sticking to Windows 7. There are still 3 solid years of support incoming. That should leave you plenty of time to experiment with 10 on the side, and one less thing to worry about.
One thing I have heard about 10 is that you can't use the "Standard VGA Driver" to bypass Intel's driver, as 10's standard driver is also problematic. If you are getting a PC with Nvidia graphics that won't really be a concern.
If you are getting a laptop with a dedicated GPU be aware that some have found that problematic because the Intel IGPU is still active in the rendering chain. Here's what was written on this forum: https://ledstrain.org/d/152-temporal-dithering-sensitivity-my-solution/18
@Slacor is there a way to quote a post from another thread?
