Do your eyes get unusually bloodshot with alcohol use as well?
This might seem like a strange question, but I've had this since I was 16 or so, over 30 years. I've been getting red eyes from PWM for 30 years, but now for 7 months I've been getting red eyes from ANY display, except Lenovo x280 and HPZR2740w with ditherig.exe enabled.
The redness with alcohol is so severe that I often get questions if I've used some drugs or been crying when I've had a couple of drinks.
A strabismus specialist prescribed eye muscle relaxing drops, (those that they use to inspect your vision, that dilate the pupil and ciliary muscle). I tried those at home and it occured to me to try if alcohol does not cause bloodshot eyes anymore and low and behold - my eyes did not get bloodshot when I had applied the drops.
So it seems that the red eyes, eye strain is produced by the pupils and or ciliary muscles working too hard when viewing PWM displays, which then makes the eyes red. Why alcohol does the same? Possibly related to strabismus somehow, maybe the eyes lose their capability to focus in the same point, which then causes the ciliary muscles and or pupils to overexert, then the result is the red eyes.
I don't know what is the significance of this, but would be interesting to learn if others have the same expericence
