lokijupiter not sure. Problem persists with 100% brightness (albeit a bit better than having it at anything less than 100%).
When I tried to capture any flicker on camera in slow-mo, there was a slight (constantly shaking) snow / grain all over the screen, but the touchbar was the one flickering like crazy.
Compared to an old, half broken HP Spectre, on the HP image was looking flawless and crystal clear, whereas with the Macbook, my phone's camera always has a hard time staying in focus, and everything is blurry.
If I watch a short video on any Macbook, I get burning eyes, but if I’m studying (reading, writing and coding) then I get the burning eyes AND the worst migraines and in just 10 minutes, I've ruined 2 days of my life, because that's how long it takes for the pain and burning to go away.
I don't know what to make of all that, but I've been a Windows user all my life, with the occasional Hackintosh here and there from the time of Lion and just recently I tried Ubuntu and my eyes loved it. The hinting and subpixel anti-aliasing makes the text very clear and relaxing for me, compared to the blurry fonts in macOS. Thus, I'm able to work in Linux the entire day without breaks.
At the end of the day, macOS is a closed system with Apple's "it just works, so no need for you to be allowed to change anything". At least with Windows and Linux, there are tweaks that can be done and I have no problem going back to something that doesn't make me feel like my eyes are on fire.
