Hello everyone!
A few weeks week ago my old monitor (Acer S240ML) started having some display issues so I decided to get a new monitor. My budget is low and I decided to go for an AOC 24V2Q monitor. I've been using it for about 9 days now and I've noticed that I have eyestrain from it. I tried reducing the brightness, enabling sRGB and I've played with the contrast a bit. The reduced brightness helped a bit but I still get eyestrain and mild headaches, I've also noticed my eyes getting red from using the monitor.
I've never had these kinds of issues before when I was using my old Acer S240ML, I find it weird that this is happening since AOC 24V2Q is much better than the Acer S240ML spec-wise (considering how old the Acer is).
Just to be sure that the issue is the monitor and not my eyes I used the old Acer for the whole day yesterday and I've had no eyestrain.
I work as a social media manager so I spend about 6-8hrs a day in front of my PC, after about 5-6hrs the eyestrain gets unbearable. This has become a big problem for me since it's affecting how I do my work. I take breaks when I'm working but that helps only slightly.
I've read that the IPS panel could be a problem so I've decided to return this monitor and get a different one, does anyone have any recommendations on what monitor I should get in a similar price range that won't give me eyestrain? I saw Asus and BenQ have a series of "eyecare" monitors. Are they any good?
I do mild photoshopping and play video games from time to time.
I'm completely new to monitors so I'm sorry if I've made some errors while writing this post.
Any information on what could be causing this eyestrain would be helpful!
Thank you. 🙂
