wow. Cool. now we are two physicists here.
I Justed made a Ram Upgrade und therefore I have to switch from Win7 32bit to Win7 64bit. Of course I've installed the same version of the graphics dirver I had. Although there is an Nvidia card and no additional intel graphics it gives me eyestrain now.
I would say thats because halogen is nearly the same as a normal light bulb and as we know there is a continous light spectrum emited from such bulbs. LEDs (especially older one) don't have such a wide light spectrum. So they emit a certain wavelength with a higher amplitude. Also LEDs need some electronics which will also result to a (invisible) flickering. Also we grew up with light bulbs and had many years to get used to the light buld light. Now our eyes are to lazy and can't adjust to the new light source. However thats only a theory.
Since also new firefox and software updates affect us, I guess that also anti aliasing fonts and a resulting flickering from them strain our eyes pretty much. There isn't an exact pixel contour which define the fonts.
The new firefox gives me eyestrain even on the old Win7 32bit system on my 2007 notebook which never strains my eyes. why is that?
