Hi,
I have been sensitive to PWM screens for some time now. I am therefore very careful to purchase only those devices which are shown to not have PWM. This includes my phone, laptop, monitor etc.
At work, I used to operate a Lenovo X13 laptop through two external monitors from Philips which are advertised as being flicker free. This arrangement did not cause any issues to me - I felt no PWM sensitivity related symptoms at all such as eye strain, headaches etc. What has recently happened is that my old Lenovo X13 laptop was replaced with another laptop but of the same model (another X13). This new laptop is connected to the same monitors as before - the Philips flicker free monitors.
What I am noticing now is that I am experiencing certain issues when using this new laptop through the monitors. I have been experiencing a lot of eye strain, headaches, brain fog and dizziness - typical PWM sensitivity symptoms. Do you guys think this new laptop could be the cause of this? My initial impression was that this change cannot possibly be the cause because 1) it is a replacement of the same model so should operate in the same way as the old laptop which did not cause any issues; and 2) regardless of the model of the laptop, it should not cause a problem because I am using it through two monitors which have not changed and which did not cause me any issues before. Do you think it could be something, for example, to do with how this new laptop (perhaps with a software/driver update in comparison to the old one) drives the monitors, i.e. it presents the image in such a way that causes these issues?
Would be very grateful for your input.
Thanks.
