tfouto Have you found anything (supplements etc) to calm down the spasms/twitching? I'm also get fasciculations here. Tried magnesium, hasn't helped much.

VanillaEyes Yes, Samsung J5 indeed. I gave me eye strain, right away. I have no tried the S6 also. Same problem. The Samsung s4 is the only one which gives me no pain. Even if I take other S4's, I get strain. Once, my s4 was broken...I bought another one, which gave me trouble, switched the screen, and voila!

What I read...and even the last comment of the thread...a colleague just proposed me his old Samsung s4 for the equivalent of $100...maybe I should give it a go...how antiquate it is? Does it mount Android 6? Can you use the software to the latest update?

Leachim38 this is the sort of thing that really tweaks me. So in your case, it was a change in either the chipset or the firmware or the OS. I find this to be the case on many phones, actually.

AGI I never had any luck with the S4, so your mileage may vary there. It does have Marshmallow, I think, although you might have to unlock it to load that in... check XDA-Developers, naturally.

AGI For Whatsapp and simple things it is ok, but it is slow and the software is old (I dont dare to change anything...).

hector I tried this one and while it was better than any other phone it still have me eye strain. Guys, please be careful and buy with option to return. I asked on amazon about return policies and bought only after getting written confirmation that I will be able to return it.

All the phones people report being ok for their eyes... don't support Verizon. C'mon, manufacturers! Make a CDMA phone that doesn't burn my retinas! Take my money!

JTL sadly, yes. And I'm sort of locked in, the kids all have Verizon phones and I have a bundle with FIOS...

Gurm @JTL I believe Verizon is deprecating their 3G CDMA network by end of this year. 4G only will be available. So if anyone here liked any older 3G only smartphone (or basic dumb phone), that's gonna stop working.

Gurm We started phasing out CDMA in Canada about 10 years ago, and the bands aren't really an issue.

I know it isn't "CDMA" per se, but the LTE bands they require in order for service to work... are substantive.

JTL Oh, how I wish that were true in the USA. Europe was great - everywhere I went there was some level of service, never had to worry about it...
