Usable Smartphones?

Mi 10T pro, even it had IPS screen, had PWM of 2381 Hz when dimmed below certain brightness value.

Not all IPS screen all PWM free. Even if they are,
according to many users there also could be other phenomena like color dithering, etc. that cause eye strain.

But it is worth try that upcoming:

Xiaomi Redmi Note 11T pro plus
Poco X4 GT
Poco X4 GT+

Because there all be with new components, decent cpu power, probably usable main camera, fresh battery, and few years of android OS updates.

We will see upgraded LTPS IPS LCD screen, that looking into the specification will be PWM free. Maybe it will be dithering free?

And advertisement claims that someone at Xiaomi spend some time, about resolving the PWM problem. They will build advertisement strategy about that topic. We will know when phone will be released.

Of course, someone should check that screen is usable. Made some tests with oscilloscope. Use it for some time...

It is also worth mentioning that OnePlus also should release phone with LCD screen.

But it is still unknown if it will be released globally, or the phone will have PWM...

Maxx The screen was pretty usable but i am also sensitive to radio waves. Some chinese phones give of pretty bad vibes even when they are turned off or disconnected from battery.

I am finding the Moto G100 is less comfortable than my iPhone SE (2020). When looking back at my iPhone SE my eyes go “Ahhhh”. Moto G100 is used at brightness 65%.

Moto G100 is not nearly as bad as Galaxy A32 5G which is really uncomfortable (for me, I think we had a positive opinion from someone else).

iPhone SE (2020) which I use has panel lottery.

Edit: I returned the phone. It caused eye muscle tightening. Shame as it was a nice phone, very fast, great value, and the Ready For features are useful. I really hate returning electronics for this eye issue (it makes me feel terrible).

degen It's safe to assume that you can skip the Oneplus 9. I wanted to like it's little brother, the 8T, but it's giving me tension behind my eyes and unability to focus. Notebookcheck states that it's a 460Hz PWM oled panel but from my observations it goes lower under 65% brightness(can be picked up by a smartphone camera). The DC dimming implementation on this phone doesn't eliminate pwm and, thus, seems more like a gimmick to me. On the "plus" side, the phone is fast and easily flashable. People are trying to downgrade from Oxigen 12 buggy OS (leans more towards Oppo after the merger) which is a clear sign that Oneplus is losing it's identity.
