I used a Samsung Galaxy S3 for about a decade with no problems. It finally reached obsolescence when my network suspended my account until I upgraded 🙂.
I tried a Motorola Moto G Power for several weeks. It was weird because I felt like it was reasonably comfortable while looking at it but, in general, I noticed I had pretty constant headaches in my eyes while I had that phone. I was even trying to not ever stare at it. I only used it to respond to texts and control podcasts so, other than time spent configuring, I consciously used it very little and it still gave me lasting headaches.
I switched to a Galaxy A23 based on previous mentions in this thread. I tried the same thing with this phone (using it minimally) and, at first, thought that it was also giving me headaches, but then realized I was probably still having residual headaches from the moto g. Over the first 1-2 weeks with the A23, they dissipated and I was feeling better.
I honestly still can't tell if this phone is giving me headaches. It feels the opposite of the moto in that if I stare at it for long periods (reading news, surfing iternet, etc.) then sometimes I do feel like it starts to bother my eyes, but when I put it down the pain will go away. But then, I've streamed video on it for hours at a time with no noticable effects. All in all, I would say that it may not be a perfect solution, but it is a manageable one. Enough that I haven't yet felt the need to switch to the Hisense A9 that I also bought as a failsafe.
On another note, I've used the reMarkable 2 for a year or so and really liked it. I recently upgraded to the Boox Tab Ultra and LOVE that device. It is a full on e-ink tablet. I can do everything I need to on it with an e-ink display. It has a single app (Notes) that does everything the reMarkable did and more. But it also came with the Play Store and it's installed every app I've tried except for Netflix (which I only tried as a "I wonder what would happen…"). It obviously won't work for streaming video or video games, but so far for me has worked just like any other tablet for everything else: internet, news, reading, notes, email, instant messaging, calendar, stock/crypto trading, you name it. In fact I can do everything I need to do on my phone on my e-ink tablet now except for calling and texting. But I know you can get it to do that too because it can take SIM cards, I just haven't added one to it.
