Every time I look at the demo unlocked Samsung A5 2017 at Costco, I think to myself, it's comfortable if you're ok with keeping it at 95-100% brightness to avoid the PWM. The white is a nice neutral white, and due to the pentile 1080 display, it's closer to 720 in true resolution. Out of the box, it's Marshmallow 6.0.1 OS. Price is only $369 CAD. What makes me hesitate, is the fact that in terms of CPU it is not stronger than my current Snapdragon 801. Battery life is way better though. I'm pretty sure this is a usable device as long as you don't turn down the brightness. So basically, I'd be paying $370 for a new battery and a bit better camera spec bump with slight CPU benchmark downgrades and the same OS I've been on for years. So I keep hesitating because I'm bored of Smartphones. I only use them for netflix, messaging, twitter, and a little bit the web these days.
