when you say dell driver, what do you mean? you need to reinstall your GPU driver, which is not the same as the driver for your monitor.
As ryans said, ditherig only makes temporary changes when it is run. It may be setup to run when windows boots, but you have to tell it do this. if you don't see ditherig in your system tray, it isn't active.
