I haven't read too many stories on here (probably less than 10), however, I haven't any stories that remind me of mine too much yet… so, firstly, if my story does remind you of yours, please leave a comment or message me (especially if you have found improvement/solutions!)!

7.5 years ago, I was working long hours, up all night, writing code for an iOS app I was developing, and I pushed my eyes past some limit of pain I had never experienced before. There was incredible pain, and I could barely open my eyes for about a week afterwards. For the next month, I couldn't drive at night, bc the lights were too bright and painful. I had never experienced anything like that before from computer use… not even close. All eye doctor visits revealed nothing helpful. I was told I had "dry eyes", but not necessarily more dry than the avg 33yr old. I tried every method for this… eye drops, warm compress… I even signed up for some "cutting edge" laser treatment designed to release more oils (same concept as the compress, but more extreme). I bought a BenQ monitor, which didn't help much or at all. I did all the other things, ergonomic, 20/20/20 rule, etc. Nothing helped much.

6 months after that even, my eyes had recovered about to 80%, with moderate computer use (4-6 hrs a day, instead of 10+).

I bought the first model of the Paperlike, and it was a Godsend! Then I bought the Paperlik HD a couple years later, even better!

Since rediscovering this site recently, I have been doing some version of the "eyepatch method", but I have also gone back to using the Paperlike HD, which I love!

I don't have much more to share for now… but as I continue with the different things I'm testing (eye patch, eye vitamins, different monitors, and more neurological/mental modalities), I will share my results/updates in this forum.

Thank you to everyone who shares their experience in here! If mine sounds at all similar to yours, please leave a comment or send me a message.

fisherking111 I've experienced same things. In 2015 i was hardly coding day & night. Then i started to feel some strange pain in my right eye. The the pain expanded to my both eyes. Also light sensitivity ( from cars"s LED & and sunny days ). The doctor also said dry eyes back then ( they barely knew what's going on ). Then a had a period from 2018-2020 where my eye pain/strain disappeared and i could use computer for long time. Then i had COVID 19 and started again to have these eye pain/strain from computers… ://
