Seagull "I can't use LCD IPS screens without getting a migraine." How long have you tried? Maybe you get a migraine at first but can adjust? Have you tried lowering the brightness and increasing the warmth of the display? On my Moto G, I really was thinking I would return it, but I have dark mode enabled, the picture changed from vivid to neutral, and I increased the warmth of the display. So far it has been very comfortable.
As well, I bought a supplement a few weeks ago. I was ready to return the bottle if they would accept it after using only 3 capsules. They couldn't accept the return, so I kept the product, and tried it more. Now the first 3 doses gave me a mild but clearly noticeable headache, but after that my body knew what to do with the ingredients and I never again had a noticeably bad reaction.
There is something to be said for allowing the body to adapt to new things.
RE: OLED, I have read too many alarming reports, and I consider those users like canaries in the coalmine. Even if one can get used to OLED, I believe IPS is a healthier, more benign technology. If OLED bothers you, IPS may as well, but if IPS bothers you OLED almost certainly will as well.
You will note the user who said IPS is 100X worse than OLED doesn't/can't use OLED either. He requires e-ink to use a computer. IPS should be the better choice for most people prioritizing their health. I guess he is especially emotional against IPS because he resents the many sensitive users who can use IPS screens just fine.
Two reports of countless many on OLED:
"I think I might be a little subjective here but, I think OLED is crap, and not only because of PWM, there is something about the way it distributes the light... There is something definitely wrong with that.
I have an Super AMOLED phone, it's ruining my eyes, supposedly shouldn't do it in full brightness. The way it's light shines, I think it's disturbing to my eyes. I have TFT screen tablet, it's much more better on my eyes. I can read all day. But my phone... It's much worse. I don't even wanna look at it. I take it on full brightness to not activate PWM but to no avail. It's still the worst. It makes me think maybe OLED is bullcrap totally. What do you think?"
"AMOLED is the worst!! I had/have Samsxng Galxxy phones, those screens hurt 😞"
So why take the chance with OLED even if you think you can use it reasonably comfortably? Junk food can be comfortable as well. Doesn't mean it's not damaging you. We don't have sufficient data on long-term OLED use and its effects on the brain and body, and if you can use OLED chances are very high you can also use IPS.
