Windows 10 update to the latest cumulative update is causing me eye strain. Wow, what a shock!! Guess I'll have to patch my right eye again for a few days.. Very noticeable sharp pain in my right lobe, where it usually is/was .. Annoying!!! (A side note, after a few mins my eyes and head are adjusting, but this is still B.S.!!)

AGI Get an eye patch, wear it on your eye that hurts or that's connected to the pain in your head. (for me right eye, right frontal lobe) It'll work eventually.

wesfowler Does patching fix the problem for you? I did try and it was of no help. Of course you could question how long I patched for, but I am not in for walking with a stick forever if you know what I mean. It is either a path to healing or I prefer to try something else such a vision therapy. Eye exercises have not provided a 100% solution either but they are supposed to activate muscles and functionalities and are harmless, whereas using one eye is not what we have been designed for, IMHO. And, in any case, I have made some progress with vision therapy. The problem is that at least every month my eyes are challenged by a new security update so it is like chasing a moving target.

KM That's probably the one. I used an eye patch for about an hour and corrected it. This damn new technology has worsened my eye sight by 30%, especially in my right eye. Yay for modern technology!

Is it for Win10 22H2 or 21H2 as well? On one PC I am keeping 21H2 and had a cumulative update and there it seems OK… on one machine with Win 11 that was kind of acceptable for me I confirm the 22H2 September update (released yesterday) is causing some level of issues.

Given the fact I just "lost" my Samsung phone that I was able to get used to and a September update ruined it just a few days ago I am really starting to believe all conspiracy theories, this cannot be just a coincidence. There is something going on here like someone is capable of sneaking certain pieces of code to various OSes… what is the purpose is a big question though.

Perhaps aliens are trying to prepare us for some different kind of perception or I don't know what… 😃 this is just incredible.

And what is interesting here - the change seems to manifest itself like the colors are ligher/brighter which is exactly what happened to my Samsung Android phone last week.

AGI Patching has worked for me, but I feel my vision has suffered from this "new" technology that's creating this disorder, which makes me think my vision is not as clear as it was. At least I have no pain while looking at "modern" devices etc. It's not a good situation for any of us, but if you have BVD it seems to help. For me it took some time for the patching, but eventually it started to work. Go back and forth and see what feels right and what works for you. Experiment.

wesfowler Thanks. How long did you have to patch for before you could notice an effect? What has your strategy been, e.g., have you increased patching time day by day etc? What is the maximum time per day and any side effect?

wesfowler my vision is not as clear as it was.

I thought my vision had worsened significantly since beginning working under bright flickering LED lamps early this year. However, I found out that the "damage" was reversible. I had a break and within a few days of no exposure to any trigger my ability to accommodate was restored. I was impressed and puzzled at the same time. Useless to say, my specialists have no idea what is going on.

AGI The first time I patched for about 2 weeks off and on. The second time I patched for 3 days, and this last time I patched for a few hours and it seemed to "fix" the problem. Side effects, fuzzier vision in my right eye, which was my dominant eye. Not sure if this is because of the technology impact or the patching due to the BVD..? Not much else I can do, so ya. Thanks Microsoft/Apple, etc. Thanks but no thanks! 🙂

Business-Eyes That's something I've wanted to do but for someone who's not as tech savvy as myself it's way too complicated. I tried Lynux Ibuntu but it really wasn't much better and I have no idea how to tweak the setting, etc.

On and off means? When I tried, I did it extensively and until late at night as I had important deadlines to meet. A week later, I woke up on a Saturday morning with my eyes crossed. I could hardly read a road sign. It was scary. That is when I put the patch in a drawer.

Business-Eyes Yeah, I am with you. However, this is not feasible in a corporate environment. You MUST update/upgrade for security reasons. Do not ask me what security reasons are. My smartphone was born buggy and I have never been able to upgrade the OS. Fuxk yes, the one time in my life I was happy of buying a defective product. I have been on the same OS since I bought the phone 4+ years ago, I have made a million credit card transactions among other things, and never had anyone hack my phone, private data etc.

Don't use Windows 10. Period. They will ALWAYS push updates, and they will always eventually find workarounds to the various update blockers. When you find something that causes you pain, you remove it.
