I moved to a new office, put my tower in a different room but I am still getting some strain. Much less but I still want to understand the underlying fundamentals. I took some brown kraft paper and put it over the walls and that helped. I used a friend's mac that was in a room with dark brown wood paneling and it was a good experience even though is router/modem combo was flickering away.
I am getting light proof curtains to put over my walls. I can't paint them. But I was wondering has anyone had a better experience with brown/chocolate vs black walls in their computer room? Both absorb blue light but not sure which is better. I may try both. I like the idea of cloth as well bc of less reflection.
I covered part of the wall with brown craft paper and the other with nothing. Just a white, semi-gloss wall and the white wall irritated my eye. Changing screens mainly. From one page to the next. The reflection was obvious. I moved my desk to the center of the room. With the doors, the reflection is obvious, it's worse with them.
Like I said, my strain is better. Which wall color is best would be a leap forward for me. All office/rooms I have used thus far have had white walls. Def ready to let those go. Much obliged.
Lastly, I notice in the dark wooden panel room I can use my phone with hardly any issues. Where as in a all white room believe it or not it's gives my eyes more trouble. Every room I live in has white walls. All my time is spent around white walls. Some have wall paper, other have other light colors but mostly white walls.
Now that I have gotten the leds out of the from, just want to be surrounded by a color that absorbs light veres reflecting most of it back I guess.
Random but I got an led flashlight and ran it across the white wall slowly and it caused the strain. I think it's something about light from white leds and white walls my eyes can handle. Running the light across the craft paper in the same was was not an issue.
I see a lot here on pwm and the more I experiment I do t think that may be a real issue for me. I'm so thankful for this. My phone operates at 250hz and it's hardly ever on full brightness.
Anyway, any thoughts are appreciated on the room color of brown vs black or any colors you all have had success with.
