i was using hp elitebook 2560p which causes me a big eye pain and migraine

then i changed to dell latitude 7480 and it is very well in eye comfort

2 months later

lattitude 7480 is so old for my needs ..im struggling to find anything new powerfull and safe

I have bought Lenovo X1 Yoga gen 3 with WQHD high quality touch screen. Based on notebook check no PWM, initial view also does not show any PWM. And although it is from 2018, it is almost brand new, screen is amazing, just as macbook screen, probably better. It has wifi transmit power control which I like to have in order to limit any background EMF exposure during long days. Will update later on any symptoms, as I did not have a chance to use it long enough.

Btw, my previous laptop HP elitebook 845 G8 had the most weirdest symptoms for me EVER. Spec wise it has all the good panels from CSOT company FHD (or I assume so), but it caused chest pain and fatigue. There are people on internet say the same. And I think it is something to do either or both due to low frequency PWM or which is also very likely, wifi antennas in the screen and EMF sensitivity. Either way, this laptop caused me chronic fatigue, and I was active person - gym, jogging etc. Maybe its wifi adapter transmitting much higher EMF that maximum allowed, maybe its pwm, maybe its something else, but forums also write a lot of similar things about this HP live. I have no clue what is a real cause, only thing can say, this is not overworking, since I did take breaks, went for short no laptop time, and after coming back immediate strike to the chest and weird drain.

Donux Lenovo X1 Yoga gen 3

    intel UHD 620 onboard?

thats could be answer (UHD620 is safe)

I know the EliteBook 845 G8 has multiple display options.

      Any comment?

simplex No It was Ryzen 3 with Radeon with CSOT full HD panel without privacy screen feature.

JTL Ryzen 3, Qualcomm WCN6856 Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 (802.11ax 2x2, AMD AIM-T AME, supporting gigabit file transfer speeds) as WIFI, and display either:

35.56 cm (14.0 in) diagonal FHD IPS eDP and PSR anti-glare WLED-backlit bent, 400 nits, 72% NTSC with Ambient Light Sensor and HD and IR camera with Low Power (1920 x 1080)

        or

35.56 cm (14.0 in) diagonal FHD IPS eDP anti-glare WLED-backlit bent, 250 nits, 45% NTSC for HD and IR camera (1920 x 1080)

Maybe display first, because 250 nits sounds like too low.

bliink I appreciate, these tackle important issues. But I am hundred percent certain we are dealing with something more concrete here. When you step away from a laptop for days and come back to it and get immediate chest pain considering other factors solve - such as good adjustable desk, good adjustable chair, daily morning excercise routines to strengthen back, there is clearly something else in play. It reminded me when I was working for one corporate that used to have these low grade laptops. Each time I would come back from the holiday and look at the screen there was immediate strain, headache, etc.

Donux Yup. They're just advertising their app without really paying attention to what this forum is about.

Best posture at a desk ever but looking at a terrible FRC monitor that's also connected to unmodified M1 Mac applying it's own temporal dithering too — can't focus at all.

          On the other hand…

Totally slumped over, using my computer totally sideways, staring at it for hours — but it's my old 2012 PC laptop with a really comfortable backlight that I also disabled temporal dithering on? Even then, I can use my old PC laptop for the whole day with no issues!!

Hi, just want to report back and say - Lenovo X1 Yoga gen 3 with WQHD - is very good. No abnormal eye strain. I think someone might get a bit of strain from the fact that this is glossy screen (I do have it, but it is very subtle), or from the fact that it is fairly small screen 14 inch, but nothing abnormal or unbearable. So at least from my side I can confirm - this was best purchase I have made from eBay, as screen is really high quality and super color accurate. Also, i am not using any ditherig.exe or other stuff, only thing I am using is chrome force SRGB colors flag so it is in line with color profile. As usual - make decision at your discretion, as it has objective and subjective elements to it.

          My panel is: LEN40AA.

Lenovo puts it also on Carbon X1. So Yoga has some extra layers on the top of it I guess. Can not see any PWM on notebookcheck either.

Panel also called: "Wide Viewing Angle & High density FlexView Display 2560x1440.

          Speshal69 surface laptop 5 , is good

pls add CPU & GPU installed, and win OS build (type winver in searchbar)

I'm using a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 (2022 or 2023, not sure) with IPS screen. Its my worklaptop and it was a bit nervewrecking at first, knowing how sensitive I can be to modern screens. But so far, it's been absolutely comfortable.

          Windows 11 Pro, 23H2, OS Build 22631.3447.

          CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-1270P 2.20 GHz

          GPU: Intel Iris XE
