I had a similar experience, but the trigger was using new laptops for weeks - first Asus, then Lenovo Thinkbook. First, the problem with the eyes began, and then a migraine with a cumulative effect.
Now the migraine begins when using any device that has alternately flickering pixels (with some faster, with some slower), increased sensitivity to flickering began - I began to feel the difference between the rtx3080 and rtx2070s, between the z390 and z690 motherboards, and "yesterday old" devices began to cause problems
The 2k 165Hz monitor and the 3080ti video card began to cause severe pain, so I downgraded to z390 + 2070s ( due to working requirements ) and the z390 + 1060 option does not cause problems at all.
The problem comes from:
1) Motherboard dithering
2) Video card dithering, operating system dithering
3) Monitor dithering ( vcom patterns )
Rollback to old devices ( or old laptops ) for each of the points will give you improvements
