Hello everyone - I did some quick opple tests on the new ultra 2 watch. Figured to share the data here.

As you can see it shows 61Hz which is the typical OLED refresh rate dip. This is NOT 61Hz PWM so ignore "High Risk" marking. Brightness on Apple watches is weird.. there's only 1-3 levels of brightness so this is on each level.
If only apple can make their phones use DC like this..🥲

Thanks for your tests! I was using my apple watch 5 for almost 4 years, never had any problems with eye strain or so. I think you don't look at it that much so it could cause you any problems. Few weeks ago I bought Garmin Forerunner 965 with samsung AMOLED display. I didn't even measure the pwm/oled flickering on this watch, just started to use. I don't have any eye strain at all. Super happy, battery last 7-8 days, tons of useful data. Never coming back to apple watch. 🙂

madmozg you're welcome! So far it seems apple watches are far more comfortable but it could be since we're not looking at it as much. That's awesome about the Garmin! I did reach out to them and they told me they don't use PWM on their watches so could be why it's comfortable! Can it call/text?

jordan No it can't call, some models are able to do that, but I don't need it.

Here are some PWM tests for Garmin Forerunner 965 with medium brightness.
