I have noticed that my monitors have a really bad black uniformity and wonder if this is triggering symptoms. OLED monitors don’t seem to have this problem but have a VRR Flicker issue (rtings.com has a great article about this).

I don’t game, just need a solid monitor so I don’t get sick while developing/coding and working in Office/Browsers.

Does VRR flicker only matter if you are gaming?

No, it is active constantly. Your internet browser would be using it for just browsing the internet i.e. 20Hz to 165Hz to 30Hz back to 165Hz. Even intel graphics turns it on if your monitor can do 120Hz or higher. If you want a 165Hz monitor, set your refresh to a fixed 165hz. Even with VRR off, OLED's still aren't flicker free as they flicker with the refresh rate. Some don't see that; some can.

VRR is a horrible feature. Despite this people still choose eyestrain over turning it off.

Dizzy when I was testing OLED monitors, I was able to notice this flickering only when the game was loading (like a loading screen), but at any other areas it was not flickering for me, its probably due to vrr as @moonpie mentioned above. If you are going to use it just for productivity work, I'm pretty much sure you are safe here, you will not notice it. But make sure you are not sensitive to OLED brightness dip.
