So my friend recommended I try a clipon polarizing filter on my glasses. Bought a cheap one thats slightly dimmed at opticians store for 15$. Tried using the iphone 6s that I have to use for work with it, and all of a sudden I have no eyestrain from it.
I noticed that when I turn the phone, the polarizer on the glasses of course lets in different amount of light. I have also noticed that on some displays, the polarizer lets in no display light at all when turned the correct angle. However with this phone, theres always a lot of light let in.
When using it, my eyes feel calm, Im able to focus on the screen. When I take it off, its like looking at fireworks.
Is there a chance that some phone screens have bad polarizing filters in them? I remember someone mentioning here that when they got a cheap iphone screen replacement, the pain was gone. Anyone tried this yet, did it help?
It might be more reasons (blocks UV light, is colored...), but so far this is really surprising to me. I might also be quick to judge, as Ive been avoiding paninful devices for the past few days and my tolerance has heightened again, but so far it seems like there really is a significant difference.
