AgentX20
AgentX20 For example I cannot use the latest version of Prepar3D (a flight sim) - just even looking at it with a static scene, on my otherwise A-OK system, causes considerable disturbance. But... I can watch other endless examples of other people's videos of the same title on Youtube.
You can watch videos of the same version of Prepar3D without eye strain?
if it's 100% the same version in the videos as the one you have trouble with this sounds EXACTLY like a problem a capture card could pick up, The idea I had is using a lossless capture card is to find subtle flicker, dithering, etc.
I sometimes wonder longingly if I could replicate the experience locally, without losing fidelity... (while I'm locked out of recent screens, video cards and even new versions of some of my favourite simulations).
I had an idea to try. Get at least a second monitor and use the screen recorder/streaming software OBS to display a preview of a video capture of something that causes you trouble (a game, etc.) on the second monitor in fullscreen while having the mouse+keyboard grabbed by the program on the first monitor so you can still play the game, etc. Don't look at the first monitor. Seeing how supposedly YouTube videos of certain programs don't seem to cause problems for people. I think this would be a good way to test.
It's also possible to remotely stream a program over a LAN to another computer (Play a game on a computer with a bad GPU while viewing it on a computer with a good GPU) is one use case.

Oh no, that's harder. This OBS example would induce video compression and input latency, so it's more of a proof of concept idea.
Cheers.
