Clokwork check out the GW2790T | 27" 1080p FHD
All wepages inform bl2420z is 8-bit but only in panel datasheet I found one note: keeping 8-bit input it send 6-bit data into RGB matrix. Then I matched this with slow video recording and detect 2 types of FRC used
To conclude:
1) you need a monitor with its FRC/pixel inversion will "not interfere" with dithering/blending from the GPU
2) as I mention in last threads, even app version (not only OS) can bring ?dithering? (android twitch app 7.00 is okay while 12.0 or 13.0 gives me strain - they rework interface and brings something new). This point is, even good device can become bad
3) this point comes from 2nd. The best way - to ask developers for checkbox to disable dithering in software (apps, operational systems) and in hardware (GPUs).
Watching linux core code, I found devs hardcode dithering types depending on output signals and monitor's capability
For example, "disable HW overlay" option in android 14+ dev menu, and Chrome flags to force GPU render, eliminate strain (not sure, need to check in many devices)
