New here. I've recently gone down the rabbit hole of learning about true 8 bit or 10 bit monitors. This was one thing I had not hear or tested and thought it's worth a shot to create a dithering free setup.
I've poured over a lot of threads here on the forum the past few days but have a few questions I wanted to clarify if you know any of these question? So the goal should be the following?:

  1. Monitor true 8-Bit (NO FRC)
  2. GPU that allows me to disable dithering/FRC, or does not use it.
  3. Windows 11, disable Color Management option here

-I've seen posts about the desktop arc GPUS not using dithering if true, But does anyone know if the new mobile Arc GPU's by Intel (140V or 130V) allow you to disable dithering? Or dont use it when your on a true 8bit?

-Disabling the color management in windows 11, that's it? I saw some older posts that you cant do it and need to run Linux or something? Do I still need to install ditherig.exe ?

-This post here suggest that even True 8-bit monitors are still using some software pixel flickering, Are there any known that do NOT? If not, I guess you just keep brightness at 100% and this problem does not apply?

Thanks!

I need the same information every time I come here because I get lost with all the different details and technical assumptions. I don’t have a high enough level in IT to understand everything. I absolutely need to find a more up-to-date setup that suits me.

Could someone with strong IT skills summarize everything that needs to be considered to maximize the chances of getting a configuration that perfectly suits someone with severe digital eyestrain?

For the screen, I was thinking of getting a BenQ Flicker-Free…

I would also like to know this. As a new user it’s overwhelming browsing these forums. It feels like with the exception of the Stillcolor thread, there’s not been much progress. I’ve combed through hundreds of posts and often the useful things are sprinkled here and there in replies to threads with hundreds of other replies, often years old.

It would be helpful if the mods or veteran users could start creating master posts with helpful tips and protocols that they’ve used over the years for different machines. Otherwise it starts feeling like a game of telephone.
