I heard from TCL about the TCL 60 NXTPAPER 5G. They state:
"Both devices utilize temporary dithering and are equipped with NXTPAPER 3.0 display technology."
That means both the TCL 50 AND TCL 60 utilize dithering.
"It has been announced that the TCL 60 NXTPAPER 5G will be upgraded to NXTPAPER 4.0 technology in the future, although an official release date has not yet been confirmed."
Of course where it says temporary dithering, they meant temporal dithering. Never know for sure when talking to support agents if what they state is truly accurate, but the TCL 50 used dithering, the TCL 60 uses the same 3.0 NXTPAPER, so it does make sense it would dither as well.
Curious to read commentary about any and all experiences with the TCL 60.
Why do you think it is so difficult to avoid dithering? Why can't they simply use a native 8 bit panel that doesn't dither?
Is it not possible to pay a little more for models that don't dither? Not talking about TCL now, but in general.
