Let me tell all an interesting story…..
I wrote in another post that my leaders are CCFL-based monitors without any enhancements or additional algorithms. Contrast, deep blacks and strong colors tire my eyes. It needs good centering between white and black. CCFL alone is not enough. After many months, I managed to configure and get my eyes used to one Samsung F354 monitor, which tired previously my eyes gigantically.
Ultimately, I worked on a 24-inch LED F354 monitor at work and a CCFL swim on my days off. Everything changed after I switched to Windows 11 at work. I've tried several monitors in the meantime, and really only one of the oldest probably one of the most burned out monitors worked as such without eye fatigue.
What a huge surprise it turned out to be when I began a very passionate verification of the reasons Why Windows 11 has so dramatically messed up my working comfort! I completely accidentally plugged in VGA Capture to myself to rip video from a work computer to my home computer.
What I saw threw my eyes out of orbits! The screen on web browsers and Microsoft applications was clearly causing flickering you could see a black horizontal bar flying by. At first I thought the VGA cable was faulty, but on one of the monitors I also noticed this to a very tiny degree.
I decided to disable the graphics card's hardware acceleration in Microsoft's browsers and services. Fortunately, I was still able to do this without admin rights.
As a result, my eyes no longer get strained on Windows 11.
What's causing this? It's most likely a bug in the Intel HD Graphics drivers. The problem has been going on for quite some time. My drivers are dated for 2024. There are newer versions available online that may have resolved the issue.
