asus389 Yep. Brand new C class, no sweat - I thought maybe I'd have some strain but my eyes adapted very very quickly, even for night driving. I have NOT tried the "the entire dash is a screen" models like the CLE or E/S, though.
Mercedes seems to have three "setups" in terms of screens:
GLA/GLB/CLA still use the early 2020's style dash, which has one pane of glass with two digital screens - one for gauges and one for infotainment. As well as a boatload of ambient LED strips. None of this bothers me.
C Class - uses the same gauge screen but it's standalone, because the infotainment is on a tablet positioned lower down so the controls can easily be reached and it doesn't interfere with driving field of view. Even more ambient lighting. Took about 5 minutes to adjust, then was fine.
CLE/E Class - same as C, but ALSO has a passenger screen where the airbag ought to be. It's insane. Haven't sat in one for more than a minute so I can't say if it's ok, but if it's similar screen technology it ought to be? Also I'd always 100% of the time turn off the passenger screen if I had one, that's just dumb.
Also the CEO of Mercedes has gone on record saying "screens != luxury", and that they're dialing back the screens for the next generation, maybe even returning to manual gauge clusters, so I absolutely expect to see nothing but the infotainment screen in the next generation.
