tck175 I am getting serious eyestrain and migraine even using Windows 11 for few minutes in all latest computers which is affecting my work and my life.
However, my work computer, HP ProBook 445 G7 with Windows 10 pro installed in 2020, works fine with me with no eyestrain and migraine. I have been using windows for 30 years since windows 3.1. I am 45 years old.
See my previous comment on how complex this all is.
I suspect that with your HP laptop and Windows 10 you got lucky with a "good" configuration of OS, graphics card and driver, and laptop panel. I have a Lenovo P14S here like that on Windows 11 - it's goof and I can use it all day. But a different OS update on it at one point rendered it no good. Fortunately a reinstall got me back into a good place, else I dunno what I'd do for work. Also I have two almost identical laptops that I bought but they're not touch screen models like my good work laptop, and they're no good either as they presumably have a different panel - or I've just not got the right mix of drivers and os versions.
The risk there is it that if you change anything on your good laptop it could go bad for you and the result will be what you're experiencing with the Win 11 setups.
BTW Windows 8 doesn't have all the GPU accelerated display driver functions present in Windows 10 and 11 so is less prone to 'problems'.
