tck175 Try installing Windows 10 1809 LTSC(2019). Turn off windows updates with WUB before connecting to the internet. Manually install older video drivers. Reflash bios after installing older windows. Find a decent 3rd party antivirus.

We shouldnt't fight an operating system but here we are.

Staycalmsyndrome Yes, and do not forget to download dodgy copy of it, so that you have keylogger and other spyware placed securely in the system 🙂 At least now you would be able to sleep well after you do your banking activities 🙂

tck175 Try searching the official thinkcentre m93p drivers page for the latest or older bios version and use the operating system version. If you don't know what you are doing just skip this step.

tck175 Windows 10 LTSC 2019 is based on version 1809 which is the year and month of release: 18 or 2018, followed by the month 09 or september. Windows 10 had many feature updates over the years and with every update the strain worsened. 1809 is considered a sweet spot with 1507/1511 being considered the most comfortable. To see the version of your windows hold win key + r and then type 'winver' in the run text field.

Staycalmsyndrome Hi , thanks! I installed Windows 10 1809 LTSC(2019). After using it , I still experience eyestrain and headaches. I feel numbness on my face too!

What can I do? I am not sure why it happens to me only ? Anybody is experiencing the same as me ?

My experience on the matter:
Windows 10 was totally safe up to some build, don't remember the exact value. Later builds were unsafe to me.
The very first build of Windows 11 is totally safe and it works on two of my desktops. A couple of days ago I bought a new notebook with a current Windows 11 build. Unusable. Installed the 22H2 version. Similar symptoms. Thinking of installing the said first build there too.

Nickonomic I recommend installing/testing windows 11 in offline mode and blocking updates before connecting to network. I noticed strain increased when it auto updated 'optional features' upon very first boot of windows. This was on top of the usual strain though.

Staycalmsyndrome Yes, this is something I have observed too. Usually there are lots of experimental drivers there, that even vendor does not provide. I think official advice is - install only if you troubleshooting something.

Thank you. This time though it is not the Windows build version but rather the new notebook screen. Even with the 21H2 build (operating safely on two other machines) it gives mild symptoms on the notebook. I'm now using patching with the latest Windows build. With the patch on -- it feels totally fine. Without it -- mild symptoms still. I guess I need more training/adapting.

Please list your monitor model also. Do you run it on full brightness to eliminate pwm? Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard and enter the command: 'msinfo32' into the run dialog box. What bios/version date do you have?

Your brain has become overly sensitive from stress to new screens/updates and now you have to reduce time on computer or buy only very safe devices with old firmware. It's always a combination of factors. Screen, windows version, video card, hdmi cable, new software, new drivers, new bios. Sometimes even nearby wifi.

tck175 I don't know if this goes for everyone, or most people but when I experience a bad device/display and use it longer than I should have, I experience trouble with devices/displays that I normally have no issue with. It's as if its a residual effect. For instance (and not the only instance), when I tried to game on a new pc with a 5070 GPU, I couldn't use other devices without issue for almost 2 weeks!!

The effect these devices have on our brains is insane.

Staycalmsyndrome Thanks! LG 24MP400. BIOS should be in2021. My computer is Lenovo M93p. But it is difficult to say . My office computer is Lenovo M93p too with windows 10 installed in 2021. I am totally fine with it !!

Clokwork I have the same and if I even push it for too long, I will start to have sensitivity to even sun and other light sources (such as incandescent lights, etc).

Clokwork Yes, true. All those neural pathways get over activated. The best reasonable solution is - do your 9 to 5, and then off the grid. But this might need to make a huge lifestyle change. For someone working in IT, this would look like suicide. For this reason, I think, some form of neural link will be the future, but it has to be not invasive. Right now translating visual information to the brain is very primitive and does not achieve good human eye to computer interface. Having said that, I have just tried very old Panasonic plasma TV, that should have been ditched long time ago. It flickers severely, it causes immediate brain fog. But long time ago, I was ok with it. So it is over stimulation I think is the issue. Also, I am not convinced that 5G and wifi EMFs that are present 24/7 now, are not making any changes to the brain.

Windows 11 flickers horribly on the login screen where the password is typed in, at least on my particular hardware combination. This is easily visible to the naked eye. Whether there is subtle flicker throughout the OS in general could be discussed/debated, but this much is indisputable.
