By the way, are you sensitive to temporal dithering as well? I am a bit doubtful that the Normal (sRGB) is equal to non FRC colour rendering though I really hope that this setting is intended for cancelling the FRC.

Thanks for the video. This last line makes a lot of sense:

Both on paper and in practice this seems to be the best display at the moment.

As for the color space question, this was my random guess. I thought, how are they producing 10 bit? Surely, not a native 10 bit panel on a ~$300 phone, right? The video suggests otherwise. I turned off this setting just to be on the safe side.

Not sure about temporal dithering sensitivity specifically. But I can only use a couple of Windows builds. And I can barely use the latest Honor's Magicbook laptop (patching only) . Especially in GPU mode, it's just brutal. Not even patching helps there. I'm quite sure the laptops display is more or less on par with that of the phone. It seems to be Windows 11 + drivers + RTX 5070 that are causing the symptoms.

Have you tried the vivid setting? According to this video, it seems that vivid colour mode in the Motorola phone does not have temporal dithering but standard mode does.

@Nickonomic Can you confirm that you have a Honor 400 and not the 400 Pro model? The video that @ITwebs linked from Nick Sutrich features a 400 Pro not the base model.

Also, how do you know that it (the 400 not the Pro version) has a 10Bit panel?

I confirm that I have a Honor 400, not Pro. Yes, I've noticed he has the Pro version in the video.

It clearly says 1 billion colors. Provided there's no FRC in base model as well as in Pro, it should be a natural 10-bit. I can't confirm it anyways.

PS: I've also noticed that in my country it is MUCH cheaper than Amazon's price.

I have done a fair bit of research on both the standard and the Pro models. The screens appear to have the same specs on the face of it, although the base 400 is half the price of the Pro model in my country so I'm not sure about them both being 10bit and FRC dithering free. Your experience is reassuring but there are people on Reddit who have found the 400 to be problematic.

I bought this phone right after buying an Honor laptop. There appeared symptoms. I didn't know which device triggered it. So I had used patching for two days with both the phone and the laptop before I found out it was the laptop that caused problems. Since then I've never used patching with the phone.

Is the honor 400 still comfortable for you after a couple weeks? Some people claimed that honor phones with Oled screen are more comfortable than iPhones XR with LCD screen. I wonder that is possible.

Yes, it is. Writing from it now. No symptoms as of yet.

It used to be iPhone 10 & 11 for me. Never tried the XR model.

Yes, it is as comfortable as two weeks ago and similar to my iPhone 10 experience from years ago.

To be honest I haven't tried the vivid mode yet. Don't want to mess up this working setup.
