I had eye-strain, headaches, and other neurosurgical issues caused by flicker so severe that it forced me to retire. I currently use a 3 Dasung paperlike pro set up, and it allows me to continue to be a free lance programmer. for a long time i could only use the e-ink monitors and they were a life saver! the Dasung does not have any noticeable lag for office productivity/programming sorts of things. I think the other options that run android are pretty laggy. Now that the problems I had are less severe I am able to add a true 8 bit VA panel with high dpi 8 feet away and still suffer no ill effects. My issues were so severe in the early days an MRI showed measurable tissue death in my brain. the Dasung takes a little getting used to, but if you have severe issues with flicker it is a total solution. if your video card is dithering, you will be able to see it on the e-ink very clearly. it shows up as swarming on the screen. when you disable it, the screen becomes static and wonderful. I ordered all three of my Dasungs strait from China in 3 separate purchases without any issue (much cheaper). 3 years in, they are my daily drivers, with an additional VA when color is needed. for me this solution was not optional, I would not be able to work without it. I would love to get the new HD versions, but I have too much invested in my 3 paperlike pro set up. the bezels between the monitors are also a bit of a pain, but far less of a pain than headaches and brain damage.
