Dell Ultrasharp 2407wfp with PWM?
- Edited
JTL Thanks!
Btw, I noticed in the pictures that the R, G and B channels seem out of phase in the PWM. Could that mean it has one of the backlights where separate R, G and B LEDs were used? Or maybe just a colour temperature change at different points during the on-off cycle of CCFL?
It's still not that great for long term use, but it feels far less harsh than the scanning between black and white on the OLED phones.
The Dell U2410 is like the only monitor I can use despite having lots of PWM-flicker (especially at 0% brighness). Go figure!
I set my 2407 to 100% brightness and use the Nvidia controls to crank down the brightness of what comes out of the video card. This effectively disables the PWM while retaining a very usable brightness level.
PWM of the 2407WFP does not affect me as well. However the light does.
I wear glasses with a light blue filter in it and it is much better now.
May give the 2410 a try as well one day...
So I want to buy the DellU2407 or DellU2410.. What's the better choice here because I am not that wealthy
Personally, having both, I'd lean towards the 2407. For me, I've used two of them for years without any hassles. My 2410 is more recent and although I'm not using it on the same safe setup, my purely subjective opinion is that the 2407s are slightly 'better'.
